About Covenant

I’ve always had a deep love of marriage and the Church. When I started planning my own wedding, I was most excited for the readings — there are so many beautiful options, and I was looking forward to teaching our guests more about who we are as a couple through our wedding Mass.

I wanted to really take my time with the reading options, where I could pray with them and meditate, underline and circle words or phrases, doodle in the margins… but it seemed the only way for me to do that would be to print the readings from the USCCB website. That really wasn’t the experience I wanted.

And so it was with that simple desire that the inspiration for Covenant was born. But when I first dreamed of it, I never actually thought it was something that I would one day create.

My husband and I got engaged November 2019. Just a few weeks later, we started hearing whispers about this deadly and rapidly-spreading virus in China. We could not have imagined what was coming our way.

Churches closed. Businesses locked their doors. We couldn’t even ask when we might be able to set a date with the church because the future was a big question mark. But finally we were starting to see things open — and so we set a date and began planning our wedding. Even if we couldn’t have more than our priest to officiate and parents as witness, we were going to get married.

But Covenant was still on my heart. I knew there was a need for it within the Church — a need for more support for couples preparing to spend their lives together, to prepare for their future and give honor to the Sacrament — and I knew that if I waited, I would miss out on the details because I would no longer be actively planning a wedding.

So in August 2020 I sat down and started collecting the readings. The scope of Covenant expanded as I fleshed out my ideas. After a month of creating, I had the prototype of an all-in-one journal-style Catholic wedding planner. I designed a resource that was curated specifically for a marriage-focused wedding (which should be obvious, but I think we all know it’s not), with everything in one place.

Covenant underwent many design changes and face lifts, printer tests and shifts in direction, between that original model and what we have now. On September 2, 2021, in honor of my parents’ 32nd wedding anniversary, pre-orders went live! Someday, I hope to expand Covenant Co. into a one-stop-shop for all of the resources as a Catholic bride might need.

I’m praying for you and your marriage!
