“The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life … has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.”
—The Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1601
Wedding planning is a lot.
From the moment you say, “Yes!” you will be flooded with decisions to make. I know when I was planning my own wedding, it felt like a race to the finish line; I was just hoping to find enough hours in the day to get everything done. There were so many ideas to keep track of, so many opinions that I wanted to take into consideration — food, color schemes, decor, parties, guest lists, budgets…
And that wasn’t even counting the most important part of the day: our wedding.
I searched high and low but wasn’t able to find a physical book to help me set aside all of the (ultimately) insignificant details and focus on the Sacrament. It was easy to lose sight of the whole point of all of this: a lifelong relationship with my husband that (God willing!) leads to Heaven.
Covenant is here to help.
